About this event
We invite you to join us for a virtual "talk and teach" event featuring University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa alumnus Brendan Lau, manager of Mari's Gardens.
Mari’s Gardens is an 18-acre aquaponics and hydroponics farm located in Mililani, O‘ahu. Their mission is to promote sustainable living, organic urban farming, and buying local.
Hear the story of how Mari's Gardens came to be, how this family-owned business has grown and evolved over the years and how UH's College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources helped prepare Brendan for what he's doing today. Brendan will be joined by Ted Radovich, UH extension specialist, researcher and professor.
In addition, hear updates from Michelle Au, president of the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources Alumni Association (CTAHRAA), and learn about CTAHRAA's programs and initiatives. Plus, don't miss a Home Gardening 101 segment featuring helpful home gardening tips and tricks for various climates.
